A Blue Earth County judge on Friday granted the defense another 30 days to complete the psychological examination of a man accused of murdering a Mankato woman last June and trying to kill her husband. The attorney for 24-year-old Levi Minissale of Minneapolis said the defense may also challenge his client’s competence to stand trial. Meanwhile, Prosecutor Pat McDermott asked the court to allow more extensive forensic analysis. Minissale is accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend Yesenia Gonzalez to death, and attempting to kill her husband. He’s due back in court on December 13th.
