Highway 68 Detour Is Removed 07 Nov 13

The detour on Highway 68 at the junction with Highway 169 in Mankato was removed Wednesday, and the highway was re-opened to traffic. Motorists travelling on Highway 68 had been detoured since mid-July to allow crews to replace the bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad. The Minnesota Department of Transportation replaced the 1936 bridge because it had reached the end of its useful lifespan. Minnowa Construction of Harmony was the contractor on the $1.5-million dollar project.
