A Kentucky man accused of robbing the People’s State Bank in Eagle Lake in October made a brief court appearance in court Thursday. 25-year-old George Richard Gaunt of Louisville, Kentucky is facing a total of 8 felony counts, including robbery and assault, and is being held on $200,000 conditional bail. He later reportedly called 9-11 and admitted that he had robbed the bank, and said he was going to pull over but didn’t want the state troopers chasing him to shoot him. In court today Gaunt’s public defendr asked for another hearing within 28 days.
