A 19-year-old Arlington woman facing a manslaughter charge following the accidental drowning of her infant son last weekend made her first appearance in court Thursday. The 8-month-old son of Christina DeLeon died after allegedly being left unattended in a bathtub while DeLeon was caring for her other child. In court on Thursday Sibley County Human Services and the judge ordered her to have no contact with her other son, for now. DeLeon is facing three felony counts, including manslaughter, child neglect and a drug crime involving children after methamphetamine drug paraphernalia was allegedly found in her home. She also allegedly gave the baby adult-strength Nyquil prior to his death. She’s facing up to 10 years in prison on the manslaughter charge, and will be back in court next Thursday. She has been released on her own recognizance.
