One person was hospitalized following a car crash in Cottonwood County on Saturday. It happened at around 9:30am at the intersection of Highways 71 and 30. Twenty-three-year-old Ryan Brown of Lake Crystal was driving a Toyota Corolla westbound on 30 when he collided with a northbound Chevy pickup driven by 15-year-old Riley Brech of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Brech was taken to the Windom Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and Brown was not injured. The crash remains under investigation by the State Patrol.
One person was injured in a crash on Highway 99 just east of St. Peter in Le Sueur County Sunday night. A Pontiac Grand Am driven by 56-year-old J. Cruz Estrada Maldonado of Le Center collided with a Chevy Impala driven by 17-year-old Sergio Garza of St. James in the intersection of County Road 21 at around 7:45pm. Neither driver was injured in the collision, but the spouse of the driver of the Grand Am, 53-year-old Maria Estrada of Le Center did suffer non life threatening injuries and was taken to the St. Peter Hospital for treatment. Both vehicles took severe damage.
A 21-year-old Plymouth man was injured in a rollover accident on Highway 19 in Redwood County Sunday night. It happened at just before 10pm near Vesta. William Lato was driving a Chevy GMT westbound on 19 when he lost control and the vehicle rolled. Lato was taken to the Marshall Area Hospital with non life-threatening injuries and his vehicle was totaled.
