Archdiocese Delays Info Release 23 Nov 13

The Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis says it is delaying the release of the names of some priests who have sexually abused children. Archbishop John Nienstedt had said he would disclose the names, locations and status of these men in November with “permission of the relevant court.” A protective order has apparently been in place in Ramsey County Court since 2009 related to the disclosure, and on Friday, the archdiocese learned that a meeting with a Ramsey County judge has now been scheduled for December 2nd. The archdiocese says the need for court approval will delay its schedule for disclosure, but it is prepared to release some information once the judge approves the plan.
