Wild Win, Brodin Out 25 Oct 13

 The Wild got a pair of first-period goals from Nino Niederreiter and Zach Parise [[ Par-EE-see ]] and made them stand in a 3-1 win over Carolina at the Xcel Energy Center.  Dany Heatley added the final goal with 26 seconds left in the game, a power-play empty-net score.  The Wild improved to 5-3-and-3.  Josh Harding had 20 saves for Minnesota before leaving due to injury. The Wild are at Chicago Saturday night.

 Wild’s Brodin Out Indefinitely With Broken Cheekbone

Minnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin is out indefinitely with a broken cheekbone.  Brodin was hit by a dump-in in the first period of Tuesday’s game against Nashville.  A timetable for his return will be announced once it is determined.  The 20-year-old Brodin has three goals and three assists in 10 games this season.  He had two goals and nine assists in 45 games last season.
