Vikings to Sign Freeman 07 Oct 13

Former Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman has a new home.  Multiple media outlets report that Freeman will sign a one-year contract with the Minnesota Vikings.  The deal is for a reported three-million dollars.  Freeman was cut by Tampa Bay last week after a tumultuous season with the Bucs.  The signing adds a 25-year-old former first-round draft choice to the crowded mix at quarterback for Minnesota.  Christian Ponder started the season’s first three games, losing all three.  Reserve signal-caller Matt Cassell [[ KASS-uhl ]] started game four of the season and led the Vikes to a win.

 Vikings Get Back To Work

The Vikings get back to work today following their bye.  At 1-and-3, Minnesota is in the basement of the NFC North.  Detroit and Chicago are tied atop the division at 3-and-2.  The Vikings will host the Carolina Panthers on Sunday at Mall of America Field.  Carolina is 1-and-3 on the season following a 22-6 loss at Arizona.
