A Le Center man was seriously hurt in a car accident in northern Le Sueur County Monday morning. 48-year-old Lance Olson was driving westbound on County Road 28 when his Ford Focus collided with a Chevy Avalanche SUV in the intersection with County Road 11 at around 6:15am. Olson was flown to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale with serious injuries. The State Patrol says he was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the SUV, 48-year-old Michael Huonder of Le Center was taken to the Minnesota Valley Health Center in Le Sueur for treatment of non life-threatening injuries. He was reportedly buckled up. Both vehicles were totaled in the crash, which remains under investigation by the State Patrol.
A Trimont man was seriously injured in a head-on collision with a semi-truck on Highway 15 Monday morning. The crash occurred at just before 7am about 2 miles north of the Iowa state line in Martin County. Ryan Bradley of Trimont was driving a Chevy van northbound on 15 when he apparently crossed into the southbound lane and collided with a Freightliner semi driven by Darrell Zaugg of West Bend, Iowa. Bradley was flown to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester with serious injuries and his van was totaled. Zaugg was not hurt, but his semi took severe damage.
