A rural Sleepy Eye man who originally faced a felony electronic solicitation of a child charge has received a stay of adjudication in Brown County Court.
Timothy Kotten chatted with a police officer who posed as a 13-year-old girl online last April. He was fined $2,080, which is due in April 2015. He was placed on three years supervised probation and sentenced to 15 days in the Brown County Jail. He may serve five jail days by Sentence to Serve if fees are paid and than can be completed within six months.
Kotten’s probation conditions include successful completion of an outpatient sex offender treatment program, no contact with females under age 18 unless he is with an approved supervisor or approved by an agent or treatment provider, his internet use will be limited and he must submit to polygraph examinations as directed.
