Winter is right around the corner, and for anyone anxious to jump into a frozen lake – for a good cause – the registration is now open for the 2014 St. Peter Polar Bear Plunge. The annual event is part of the year-round Law Enforcement Torch Run, which supports more than 7,700 Special Olympians in Minnesota. Brave Plungers will raise funds for the Special Olympics before jumping into the frigid waters of Hallet’s Pond on St. Peter on Saturday, February 1st. The average Plunger raised more than $200 for this year’s event, and all of the St. Peter Polar Bear Plungers combined raised approximately $101,000.
