Nominations are now open for the University of Minnesota’s Siehl Prize for Excellence in Agriculture. The awards will be announced on National Ag Day on March 25.
The Siehl Prize dates back to the early 1900′s and was founded by a gift from Eldon Siehl of New Ulm, a livestock breeder and businessman who was worried people were losing touch with their farming roots.
The prize recognizes outstanding contributions to agriculture and the alleviation of world hunger. Recipients are chosen in three categories – knowledge, production agriculture and agribusiness. Siehl prize laureates will be honored at a ceremony on May 22 at the McNamara Alumni Center.
Nominations must be postmarked or emailed by January 15. You can get more information by calling 612-624-1234 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
