New Mankato Nurses Contract 04 Oct 13

Nurses at the Mankato Mayo Hospital have approved a new contract. The 470 nurses agreed to terms on Thursday that they say address their concerns about the quality of patient care at the hospital. The Minnesota Nurses Association says that improved language will help nurses better advocate for their patients without fear of retaliation, as well as allowing them to get more input on staffing levels at the hospital. The 3-year contract includes new guidelines on patient-staffing ratios, benefits and wages, and the scheduling of nurses.
