The latest “Click It or Ticket” seatbelt enforcement campaign kicks off today (FRI) across the State of Minnesota. Nearly 400 law enforcement agencies in the state will be increasing patrols to encourage motorists to buckle up. In a similar campaign in May, a total of 10,342 motorists were ticketed for seat belt violations. Unbelted motorists continue to represent a significant amount of Minnesota’s traffic fatalities, especially in Greater Minnesota. The odds are six times greater for injury in a crash if a motorist is not buckled up.
