The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension continues to investigate a shooting involving a Hutchinson Police officer that happened Friday morning. The officer had responded to a report of a suspicious male sleeping in the entryway of the Fairlane apartment complex in Hutchinson at just after 8am Friday, and upon his arrival, there was a brief confrontation and shots were fired. The suspect was taken to the Hutchinson Hospital for treatment, and was later transferred to the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis for treatment. A name has not been released at this time. The officer was not injured in the incident. The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is currently conducting interviews of those involved.
