A grain truck was destroyed by fire in Lake Crystal. Reports say the fire happened while the Lake Crystal Fire Department was delivering pizzas to households during the fire prevention week. The call came in around 6pm and pizza deliveries had to be shuffled to other trucks that did not respond to the call.
The truck was owned by Greg Anderson and was fully engulfed in flames when fire officials arrived. However, the fire department did manage to save the load of soybeans and a neighboring corn field. The fire department’s equipment van reportedly lost its brakes approaching the burning truck near Judson hill. No injuries were reported.
