Girl Killed In Belle Plaine Rollover 28 Oct 13

An 8-year-old girl was killed in a rollover accident on Highway 169 Sunday afternoon. It happened at just after 2pm near Belle Plaine. A Honda Civic driven by 48-year-old Timothy Adams of Mankato was traveling northbound on 169 when the vehicle was rear-ended by a Ford Super Duty pickup truck pulling a horse trailer while he was slowing down. The driver of the truck, 62-year-old Walter Grewe of Brooklyn Park lost control of the vehicle and it rolled into the ditch and the trailer landed on top of it. His passenger, and granddaughter, 8-year-old  Laura Maloney of Pine City was pronounced dead at the scene. Grewe and his other passenger, his daughter 35-year-old Erin Maloney of Pine City both suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Adams was not hurt.
