Your cell phone service in the City of Gibbon should be getting better in the near future. The city has approved a Land Lease Agreement giving Verizon Wireless the use of a 75×75 piece of property for a new cell phone tower. Gibbon owns around 50-acres of land where the tower will be constructed, which is currently rented out as farm land. When the project moves forward the city will receive $750 per-month from Verizon as lease payments on the land, and that amount will increase annually. The construction drawings for the proposal are expected to be presented to the Gibbon City Council during it’s meeting November 4th.
