A Gaylord man was sentenced to 90 days in jail and probation in Sibley County for ultimately reporting his own burglary. According to court documents, police responded to an incident August 2 at the Gaylord Motel and found Cody Servin intoxicated. Servin reported someone broke into his apartment and stole his TV. While officers checked the apartment, they were advised of a break-in at the adjacent apartment.
A list of missing items reported in the break-in were found in Servin’s apartment and a shoe print found on the door of the apartment next to Servin’s matched the tread of Servin’s shoes. Blood was also discovered at the scene and Servin did not have a cut on his hand.
