The 28-year-old Renville man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend is scheduled to be in court today (WED) for a plea hearing. Andrew Dikken is charged with 2 counts of 2nd-Degree Murder in Yellow Medicine County Court for the September 2nd incident in Granite Falls. 26-year-old Kara Monson was dead at the scene, and 28-year-old Chris Panitzke of Redwood Falls died a few days later after the two were found shot in Monson’s home. Panitzke allegedly identified Dikken as his attacker before dying from his injuries. Dikken has asked to be allowed to plead guilty to both charges in exchange for a 52-year prison sentence. A judge has been considering the request, and it will be addressed at today’s hearing. Dikken remains in custody with bail set at $3-million.
