After standing tied for fourth after yesterday’s opening round of the MIAC Championships, the Gustavus women’s golf team moved up to third after Sunday’s second round at Bunker Hills Golf Club. The Gusties shot a 326 (+38) on Sunday to bring their total to 646 (+70) through two rounds.
Carleton holds the lead in the tournament. After shooting a 318 (+30) yesterday to rank second after Saturday’s first round, the Knights came back to card an identical 318 (+30) on Sunday to take the lead after two rounds with a 636 (+60). St. Thomas, after ranking tied for fourth yesterday, turned in the lowest round of the afternoon with a 317 (+29) and is currently second, one shot off the lead with a two-round total of 637 (+61). With its score of 646 (+70), Gustavus sits 10 shots back heading into Monday’s third and final round.
The Gustavus Adolphus men’s golf team sits in sixth place with a team-score of 620 (+44) after the second day of the 2013 MIAC Championships being held over the weekend at Bunker Hills Golf Course. After shooting a 308 on day one, the Gusties followed with a 312 on the day two.
Saint John’s held strong in first place after turning in a second round 309. The Johnnies now have a four shot lead over second place Bethel with a two-day team-score of 596 (+20). Bethel shot a 302 on Sunday to finish in second with an overall total of 600 (+24). Augsburg rounds out the top three in third with a 606 (+30) after shooting a 306 Sunday.
