The man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend in Granite Falls last month made an appearance in court Thursday. 28-year-old Andrew Dikken of Renville has been charged with 2nd-degree murder for the deaths of 26-year-old Kara Monson of Granite Falls and 28 year old Chris Panitzke of Redwood Falls. The 2 were shot at Monson’s home on September 2nd. She died at the scene, and Panitzke in the hospital several days later. Dikken turned himself in after a 15-day manhunt. In court on Thursday he waived his right to an omnibus hearing within 60 days, allowing both sides in his case to have more time to review evidence. He has not entered a plea at this time, and remains in custody in Yellow Medicine County with bail set at $3-million.
