The Vikings continue to prepare for their regular season opener on Sunday in Detroit against the Lions. Minnesota is coming off a 10-and-6 finish last season, which ended with a loss to the Packers in the NFC Wild Card round. Detroit went just 4-and-12 last year. The Vikings won both meetings with the Lions in 2012. Minnesota did not practice yesterday, but will be back on the practice field today in Eden Prairie.
The Lions returned to the practice field yesterday as they continue to prepare for Sunday’s season opener against the Vikings at Ford Field. Receiver Calvin Johnson, safety Louis Delmas and defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh [[ en-DOM-uh-kun SOO ]] all took part in drills, but rookie defensive end Ziggy Ansah and running back Montell Owens did not participate. Ansah has not practiced since August 24th with an undisclosed injury and Owens has been placed on short term injured reserve with a knee injury suffered in Detroit’s third preseason game against New England. Owens will be eligible to return in six weeks.
