Two Hurt In Highway 212 Crash 17 Sep 13

Two people were injured, one of them seriously, in a rear-end crash on Highway 212 near Plato Monday afternoon. 91-year-old Florence Becker of Hutchinson was taken to the Glencoe Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. She was a passenger in a car driven by 60-year-old Janice Schmidtbauer of Fort Collins, Colorado, who was taken to the Glencoe Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The State Patrol says that Schmidtbauer was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix eastbound on Highway 212 in a construction zone when she was rear-ended by a GMC Sierra pickup truck driven by 29-year-old Jeremy Widmer of Norwood Young America. Widmer was not injured. The crash happened at just after 3:30pm Monday.
