Prairie Chicken Licenses 09 Sep 13

There are a handful of prairie chicken hunting licenses available beginning today to those who were unsuccessful in the prairie chicken hunting license lottery, which ended on September 3rd.  The limited number of remaining licenses are available starting at noon today on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Hunters who purchase a surplus license maintain their preference points for next year’s prairie chicken license lottery.  The prairie chicken hunting season runs from September 28th through October 6th.  Hunters are allowed to harvest two prairie chickens for the entire season.  A total of 126 prairie chicken hunting licenses were awarded in the lottery last week.  Five more are available today.
