The New Ulm Public Utilities Commission on Tuesday awarded over a million dollars worth of bids on 3 upcoming projects in the community. MR Paving and Excavating was awarded a bid for more-than $85,000 to install a large water main connecting the Airport Water Tower to the future Nehls Park Water Tower. The bid came in nearly $20,000 below estimates, and the work is scheduled to get underway on October 14th and take around 3 weeks. TMI Coatings was awarded a $159,500 bid to repair masonry on the city’s 3 million-gallon Heinenhill Reservoir. That work starts October 7th, and will take nearly a month. And Brennan Construction was awarded an almost $947,000 bid to prepare the New Ulm Power Plant for the installation of new steam turbine equipment.
