The New Ulm City Council on Tuesday approved a $110,000 loan to assist a Nicollet company in relocating to New Ulm. United Commercial Upholstery intends to move into the former PGI Mailers building on the 2,000 block of North Broadway in New Ulm. The business specializes in upholstery for golf cart seats and furniture for the marine industry, and has been headquartered in Nicollet for 13 years. The loan from the city will be used towards purchasing the million dollar building, and comes from the Revolving Loan Fund. A total of 17 jobs will move from Nicollet to New Ulm, and the terms of the loan require the company to add another 7 full-time jobs and a clerical position within the next 2 years.
