Two brothers from rural Trimont as well as a teen from Jackson have been arrested in connection with a spree of machinery thefts over multiple counties. 20-year-old Bryan Paul Poppe and his 17-year-old brother Brandon Steven Bruce Poppe, as well as 19-year-old Dylan Thomas Thompson of Jackson allegedly stole around $250,000 worth of machinery and tools from throughout Watonwan, Martin and Jackson Counties in Minnesota and Emmet County in Iowa. The stolen items reportedly included a John Deere tractor, balers and bale carriers as well as several bales, a hayrack, a backhoe, and numerous other pieces of equipment. More stolen items are still being uncovered, and authorities say the three apparently buried some of the items. The burglaries began in May and continued through the summer. The suspects each face multiple charges of theft.
