The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension continues to search for a Granite Falls man that has been named as a “person of interest” in a homicide investigation. The shooting victim has been identified as 26-year-old Kara Monson, who reportedly works as a hair stylist in Montevideo, and has a four-year-old daughter. The girl was apparently not in the home at the time of the shooting. Monson was dead at the scene, while a second gunshot victim, 28-year-old Chris Panitzke called the police at 3:30am Monday to report the attack. He is described as the victim’s boyfriend, and was taken to the Granite Falls Hospital in Critical condition after the shooting and was later airlifted to Hennepin County, where he is now in Stable condition. Authorities are searching for 28-year-old Andrew Dikken. He had reportedly been working in Alaska for several months prior to the incident, and is said to be the ex-boyfriend of the victim. Authorities reported this (WED) morning that his truck was found north of Belview. Anyone with information on Dikken’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.
