Martin Luther College sophomore cross country runner Grey Davis was named UMAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week this week.

Davis took sixth place over the weekend at Crown College, finishing with a time of 28:34.6. His finish helped the Knights finish the event in third place.

 

Martin Luther College volleyball player Rebecca Engelbrecht was named UMAC Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week Tuesday afternoon.

Engelbrecht averaged 4.14 kills per set in four matches over the weekend at a tournament hosted by Bethel University, hitting .266 in those matches. In Friday’s five-set win over St. Olaf, Engelbrecht hit .404 and finished with 25 kills.

Engelbrecht also reached a milestone of 1,000 career kills over the weekend, becoming the fourth MLC volleyball player to do so. She now has 1,014 kills for her career.

 

Martin Luther College quarterback Luke Rothe was named UMAC Offensive Player of the Week in football for his play against Maranatha Baptist Bible College last weekend.

Rothe set new MLC records for passing yards (399) and completions (27), and also accounted for six total touchdowns (four passing and two rushing) in the team’s 56-54 loss to MBBC Saturday. The sophomore also carried the ball 22 times for 73 yards.
