Multiple felony charges have been filed against 3 Mankato men accused of stealing over $25,000 worth of items in a series of thefts in the rural Cleveland area. 22-year-old Cameron Schmidt, 19-year-old Sean Schmidt and 19-year-old Derrick Butson are accused of stealing 3 offroad motorcycles, a total of 15 guns, paintball equipment, power tools, liquor and cash in two separate incidents in July. The three are being held in the Le Sueur County Jail, and have been charged with felony theft, theft of a firearm, and 3rd-degree burglary. They face up to 35 years in prison. Le Sueur County authorities say that they recovered 2 of the 3 bikes and 3 of the 15 firearms, and are asking for the public’s help in finding the remaining items.
