Charges were filed on Wednesday against the man suspected of killing his ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend in Granite Falls on Labor Day. 28-year-old Andrew Dikken showed up at his parent’s home in Renville Tuesday and family members immediately turned him over to the authorities. Officials believe Dikken shot 26-year-old Kara Monson and 28-year-old Christopher Panitzke of Redwood Falls multiple times as they slept at Monson’s house in Granite Falls. Monson died at the scene, but Panitzke remained conscious and called 911. He reportedly identified Dikken as the shooter to officers both at the scene and when questioned while hospitalized. He died from his gunshot wounds 6 days after the shooting. Dikken is scheduled to make his first appearance in court today (THU), and has been charged with 2 counts of 2nd-degree murder.
