The New Ulm District 88 School Board is scheduled to approve a preliminary tax levy for 2014 this (THU) evening. The board is expected to approve the maximum levy amount possible, around $6.2-million. The final levy certification will then take place on December 19th. District 88 residents will have an opportunity to comment on the levy at that time, and the final 2014 budget and tax levy will be presented. In other business this evening, the board will receive the annual report on curriculum and instruction, and will hold a 90-day review on new District 88 Superintendent Jeff Bertrang. The school board meeting starts at 7pm at the District Administrative Center in New Ulm.
