Credit Card Fraud In Springfield 21 Sep 13

A Springfield woman was charged with felony credit card fraud on Thursday in Brown County Court. 60-year-old Paulette J. Fischer is accused of using another person’s debit card without permission to make over $600 in purchases at Tauer’s SuperValu in Springfield. The victim told police that Fischer was the only person who knew where the card was kept because she sometimes helped his sister buy groceries. Surveillance video footage from Tauer’s reportedly showed Fischer using the card to purchase 6 prepaid gift cards on the days the unauthorized transactions took place. She has allegedly admitted to the crime, and claims to have a “serious gambling problem.”
