A Courtland man has been charged with felony issuance of a dishonored check in Brown County Court. 38-year-old Carl Steven Page is accused of writing a check for nearly $8,000 at the New Ulm Menards store that was returned due to non-sufficient funds. The Southpoint Federal Credit Union account reportedly had a balance of $35 at the time. Investigators viewed surveillance video from Menards reportedly showing Page in the store’s checkout line on the day the check was written. Authorities gave Page a deadline for repaying the funds, but he apparently failed to do so.
