The Brown County Board approved the annual agreement with the University of Minnesota on Tuesday for Extension programs locally. The contract provides for a three-quarters time 4H program coordinator for Brown County at a cost of $49,900. Regional Extension Director Nathan Crane says the position involves a lot of work. The 2014 agreement with the Extension service calls for a 1.5% cost increase for the 4H coordinator, which Crane says will continue to be Alisa Mangen of Sleepy Eye. The Extension agreement also provides for a 16-hour per-week support staff position, which will also see a 1.5% increase in 2014. The Memorandum of Agreement was unanimously approved by the Brown County Board.
