An investigation is underway after a man’s body was found in a Marshall Police Department squad car over the weekend. Authorities say that 53-year-old Raul Bautista-Avalos of Marshall appeared highly intoxicated when he came to the Lyon County Law Enforcement Center at around 2:30am Saturday and requested a ride home. He was reportedly told to wait for an officer, but left before an officer could meet with him. His body was discovered about 13 hours later in a squad car parked in the back lot. The death has been ruled accidental, and investigators do not suspect foul play. The results from a toxicology test are pending, and the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
