A’s Crush Twins 12 Sep 13

 Oakland’s Stephen Vogt and Jed Lowrie each hit a two-run home runs to power the Athletics to an 18-3 victory over the Twins at Target Field last night.  Lowire ended with four RBI while Vogt had three for Oakland, which has won four-of-five.  Oakland scored ten times in the fourth inning to help send Twins pitcher Mike Pelfrey to an early shower.  Pelfrey allowed seven runs in three-plus innings of work.  A’s rookie Sonny Gray struck out seven in five innings of two-run ball for the win.  Twins player Eric Fryer belted his first career homer for Minnesota, which has lost five of its last seven.  The same two teams wrap up the three-game series with a noon game today in the Twin Cities.
