Upwards of 200 employees were evacuated at Brown Printing in Waseca Thursday morning due to toxic fumes apparently being released. Company officials say that the fumes were generated after a very small quantity of chemicals were accidentally blended, and that there was no actual toxic spill. They say the plant followed prescribed safety procedures and evacuated the facility and the regional hazardous materials team was called in to handle the chemicals. Several roads around the facility as well as nearby businesses were also reportedly closed as a precaution. No serious injuries have been reported, and an investigation into how it happened is underway.
