The Vikings practiced with Jared Allen, Xavier Rhodes and Desmond Bishop all were able to practice at training camp in Mankato yesterday. Each player had been nursing injuries throughout portions of the camp. It is unlikely that any of the three will play in tomorrow’s preseason opener at home against Houston. Allen is recovering from an ankle injury that head coach Leslie Frazier says is not serious. Rhodes has a hamstring injury that Frazier says is healing, but not enough to risk in game action tomorrow. And, Bishop has been dealing with a sore groin.
Vikes In Preseason
The Minnesota Vikings open the organization’s 53rd preseason schedule with a home game tomorrow night against the Houston Texans. This will be the 236th preseason game in the history of the franchise with the Vikes holding a 139-93-and-3 record in those games. Minnesota has had six undefeated preseason slates, including 1964, 1965, 1973, 1992, 1998, and 2001. Head coach Leslie Frazier is 3-and-5 in his previous eight exhibition games. Friday’s game at the Metrodome is set to kickoff at 7 p.m. Catch all the action on SAM 107.3.
