Storms Hit Minnesota Midsection 08 Aug 13

Severe thunderstorms left damage across a swath of Minnesota’s midsection Tuesday night, including in the Twin Cities. The storms dumped large downpours and golf-ball sized hail across part of the state, from Morris, to New London to the Metro area. Flash flooding led authorities to close Highway 77 near the Mall of the America for a short time as well, and gusty winds knocked down trees and left over 40,000 homes and businesses without power. Hundreds of homes were still without power as of this (THU) morning.
