The Minnesota Department of Transportation is holding an open house in St. Peter today (MON) to review the upcoming changes to Highway 169 access on the north end of St. Peter. The meeting starts at 5pm at the St. Peter Community Center. The project will include safety improvements at intersections along 169 next year. The intersections with St. Julian Street and Highway 22 are being targeted because they have above-average crash rates. Other intersections include Union, Ritt, and Dranttel Streets. Mn/DOT crews will also be resurfacing the southbound lanes of 169 and raising two miles of flood-prone roadway between St. Peter and Le Sueur next year. The southbound lanes from Mankato to St. Peter will be raised in 2016. More information on these upcoming projects is available on the Minnesota Department of Transportation website.
