The Royals stayed hot as they hammered the Twins 13-0 last night in Kansas City. The duo of Eric Hosmer and Mike Moustakas [[ MOO-stock-us ]] combined for seven hits and seven runs driven in. K.C. starter Jeremy Guthrie pitched a complete game shutout, striking out seven and allowing four hits. Guthrie earned his 12th win of the year. Kansas City has won 12 of 13 to move to 57-and-52. Kevin Correia took the loss for Minnesota allowing six runs and seven hits in two innings. He allowed all six of his runs in the second frame. Things got so bad for the Twins that manager Ron Gardenhire used 39-year-old infielder Jamey Carroll to pitch the eighth inning. Carroll retired the Royals in order. The same two teams play tonight in Kansas City. Coverage begins at 6:40pm on 860 AM KNUJ and SAM 107.3.
