Redwood County Levy Increase 23 Aug 13

The Redwood County Board this week approved it’s first tax levy increase in 5 years. The preliminary tax levy for the county was set at over $10.6-million, a .7% increase over this year, and the first levy increase for Redwood County since 2008. The primary reason for the increase is reportedly to ensure that road and bridge projects are adequately funded next year. The county board now has until September 15th to certify the preliminary levy, at which point it can still be lowered, but not raised, prior to it’s final approval in December.
