A Mankato man is facing multiple criminal charges after allegedly fleeing from a hospital he was a patient at prior to being discharged. Authorities say that 35-year-old Michael Lee Larson had active warrants out for his arrest when he ran out of the Mankato hospital Friday afternoon wearing only a hospital gown and with IV needles still attached to his arms. A hospital staff member says that when Larson fled from his third floor hospital room, he grabbed a $500 Motorola radio from her hands as well. Mankato police found Larson a short time later in an alley behind a nearby Chinese restaurant, and the radio was in his possession. He was arrested without incident, and remains in custody in the Blue Earth County Jail. He’s been charged with terroristic threats-reckless disregard, 4th-degree intent to commit burglary, and simple robbery.
