DWI Crackdown Starts Today 16 Aug 13

More than 40 law enforcement agencies from throughout South Central Minnesota will be cracking down on drunk drivers during a stepped up DWI enforcement campaign that gets underway today (FRI). Nearly 30,000 motorists are arrested for DWI every year in Minnesota, and last year a total of 104 people were killed in drunk driving crashes in our state. Brown County had 4 alcohol-related deaths last year, while McLeod County had 1, Nicollet County had 5, Sibley County had 2, and Watonwan County had 1 alcohol-related death in 2012. This latest DWI enforcement effort in Minnesota runs through Labor Day, September 2nd.
