Belle Plaine Administrator Done 23 Aug 13

Belle Plaine City Administrator David Murphy was officially relieved of his duties with the city as of this week. The Belle Plaine City Council recently voted to not renew Murphy’s contract when it expires at the end of the year. He has served as city administrator for nearly 10 years. City officials have not commented on why his contract was not renewed, other than it will enable the city “to move quickly in a more progressive, efficient and effective manner.” Belle Plaine Finance Director Dawn Meyer is now the acting city administrator, and will likely be appointed interim administrator while a replacement for Murphy is found.
