Minnesota outfielder Clete Thomas hit a solo homer and drove in two as the Twins picked up a 4-3 win over the Angels last night in Anaheim. Thomas also helped the cause by robbing pinch hitter Chris Iannetta [[ eye-uh-NET-uh ]] of what would have been a go-ahead home run in the eighth inning. Samuel Deduno tossed seven innings of two-run ball to improve to 6-and-4 while Glen Perkins nailed down his 24th save for the Twins. Joe Mauer was 3-for-4 for Minnesota, which has won three out of four since the All-Star break and five of six overall. Joe Blanton’s woeful season continued as he allowed four runs and threw 90 pitches in just three-and-two-thirds innings to fall to 2-and-13 for Los Angeles. Mike Trout went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Halos, who have lost back-to-back games after winning their first two after the break.
