Chris Colabello hit his first career homer in the 13th inning to lift the Twins to a 3-2 win over the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field. Colabello blasted a two-run shot and Minnesota held on to stop a two-game slide. Trevor Plouffe ripped an RBI single off Felix Hernandez with one out in the ninth inning to tie the game at one. Brian Duensing recorded the win in relief while Glen Perkins notched his 25th save, despite allowing a solo homer in the bottom of the 13th. The series continues today (3:10).
Mauer To Remain In Twin Cities Through Weekend
Twins catcher Joe Mauer will not rejoin the team this weekend in Seattle. He will instead stay in the Twin Cities with his wife and newborn twin daughters. Mauer was placed on the paternity list earlier this week. Starting today, he will be moved to the restricted list after the limit for days on the paternity list expires. Mauer will rejoin the team on Tuesday.
