A teenage boy was involved in an 8-hour armed standoff with law enforcement on Monday in rural Lac qui Parle County. Officers were investigating a report that 40-year-old Kevin Ernest Morris of rural Dawson was in possession of firearms as a convicted felon. A search warrant was executed and 16 firearms were seized, along with ammunition, ammunition clips, drug paraphernalia and marijuana. The teen was in the residence when the search warrant was executed, but did not surrender to authorities until after an approximately 8-hour negotiation. He faces two felony charges of obstructing the legal process. A name has not been released. Morris faces charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and child endangerment. He makes an appearance in court today (WED), and bail has been set at $100,000.
